Family Pics.....Disaster?

Well last night we went and took family pictures. Wow! I never knew it would be so tough with a 1 year old...or maybe just my little one has no attention span. I honestly thought I had all my basis covered. I put him down for an earlier nap and even fed him lunch a little early so he would go down well for that nap and then we could run some afternoon errands. I headed down to Orem and everything was going perfectly.....The night before I had said to Chris that we needed to trim Chases hair because he had some crazy long stragglers. It really was not that big of a deal, but I thought we would just trim it up a little on the sides and keep the top long. Well it did not get done the night before so right after work Chris decided to work on it. All I can say it Chase pretty much got a buzz....oops! It would have been fine other than the fact that we were taking family pics that day and he is being Elvis for Halloween. Oh well... what could we do.

We headed to the place the photographer wanted us to meet and I don't think anyone was super happy with the location, but we took a few pics there and then headed to another spot. Chase was a handful to say the least. Being in a new place everything looked so enticing to him and getting him to sit at all was a trial to say the least. Thinking back on the whole thing I probably should have given him another snack and juice before we went, but oh well. The photographer said, it is so easy to take pics until they start walking and then they think they have to be on the go. Needless to say, Chris and I walked away with little confidence that a good pic was even taken. I guess we will see the results when they come back, but in the future with a 1 year old I will have to be very creative....and give them a snack! I did think about it on the way to the other location, but it did not take too long to get there and all he wanted was the food when we got there and was unhappy when I took it away. I really think his grumpiness had a lot to do with my forgetfullness. :)

Pumpkin Patch

On Thursday Chris and I decided it was time for us to go and get our pumpkins. A fun, yet cheap activity. Julie had mentioned a fun place in Herriman so we headed up and got our pumpkin search on. It was pretty funny watching Chris look for a pumpkin because it had to be "perfect".....Had to have a stem and be perfectly round. Chase on the other hand picked up everyone he saw, would yell ball and then throw it. We ended up with four pumpkins for our little family and it was only $4....what a deal! It was a cute little place and had a cute little corn maze and tractors. Chase was in sterring wheel heaven with all the steering wheels and gadgets that he was able to play with on the tractors. In fact to get him interested in the pumpkins we had to go way out in the field and far away from the tractors. It was a perfect place to go and a fun family activity! Thanks for the tip Julie!

On Friday we headed to my nephews baptism. It was actually a 3 for 1 deal. Both nephews were baptized and little Sadie Jane was blessed. She is such a cutie and had a grin on from head to toe of course until the blessing came....and then she let us know she was upset for being laid down. It was so cute to see them all dressed and white and to share in there big day.

Trip to Florida!

This past week I headed to Florida to visit my new little neice Aubree! She was such a cutie and so tiny. Chase and I stayed with Michelle to help her out a little and Chase could not stop kissing Aubree. We had lots of fun spending time with her and with my family. While we were there they blessed Aubree. It was a perfect day with a perfect blessing given by my dad! All in all we had a great time visiting with everyone and was sad to leave so soon! Next time we go and visit she will be all grown up! :)

16 Months Old

Chase is now 16 months old. He is such a cutie and I love every minute I have with him. These past few months he just does the funniest little things. Every since he turned a year old he has been such a mimicker and I just can't help but laugh. He walks around with my big round brush and hair dryer and will pretend he is doing his hair....I know what you are thinking, "What hair?" He pretends he is clipping his toe nails and helps with all the house chores... dusting, sweeping, etc. Hey we have to start them early, right? He is starting to talk more and more every day. Sometimes it is only the words a mom can understand and other times they are clear as day, but I love that he is able to communicate just a little more and he gets excited and will clap everytime he gets a new word down. Some of the words he is now saying is: shoe, hot, momma, daddy, boobers, baby, thankyou...which is really just the word "you", and cheese. Those are just a few off the top of my head. He HAS to eat with his little utinsels and thinks he is such a big boy now, which he is, what happened to my baby? It is just cute to see him grow up and I have loved every stage. What a great little guy I have....I love that he wants to try to drive the car every chance that he gets, and I love that he will kiss my face 10 times in a row. I think it is so cute that when he hears the garage door open that he runs to the door to see Chris and I just love how excited he gets when he runs to you and gives you the biggest hugs and kisses. I could go on and on, but just needed a few of my favorite things to remember at this age of
what a cutie I have! I mean look at those big eyes....don't they just melt your heart!

Whats been going on?

Charity Ride
On Saturday Chris and I, along with Kelly and Rach and Dahlberg participated in a charity ride for Sargent Terry the officer who was shot in Lehi a few months ago. We started at the Harley Davidson shop in Orem and headed down to Nephi to ride the Nebo Loop, and ended in Lehi for a BBQ. It was an amazing ride and an amazing turn out for such a good cause. To be in the ride you payed $25 per bike and then another $15 for each passenger. There were about 350 bikes with about half with passengers so you can imagine how much money was raised. It was a great ride with all the leaves that were changing, but even more I just loved the reason behind the ride and I hope that we can do more of these in the future.

Chase got to hang out with Aunt Melissa while we went and he had a great time. They met us at the BBQ and we listened to music had a little grub.

Cash is Back!

Well I watch Cash a little here and there for Nalani and since August he was all booked up with family and Daddy time. Chase and I were going through withdraws! Well FINALLY he is back. Jed has been out of town with work so Chase and I have had lots of fun having the Cash man back in the house....(Literally) I always tell Nalani watching both Chase and Cash make me feel like I could really handle two, but then I realize I have 2 great kids I am watching. :)

Baby Aubree is here!

My sister Michelles little girl has arrived. Michelle was scheduled for a c-section on October 1, but went into labor on Sunday and they decided to do ahead and get that little one here.

7lbs, 20 inches long

I am so happy she is here and cannot wait to go to FL next week to give her lots of hugs and kisses.

Weekend Fun

We had a great weekend. On Friday night we headed to Wingers for the 2 for $20 deal then just hung out at home and watched Drillbit Taylor. I thought this movie was going to be dumb, but actually ended up liking it and thought it was hilarious. So if you have a night looking for a fun movie to watch....I give this 2 thumbs up! And if you don't like it, don't blame me.

On Saturday we headed to the BYU game. As many of you know it was a blow out, but still so fun to watch! We had a great time at the game and Chase loved it as well! He was stomping on the bleachers and clapping and would let out a loud scream hear and there cheering along. On Sunday we headed to Nephi to celebrate my nephews birthday. Chris thought it would be funny since they were twins to give them each half of a $20 bill. I don't think the twins understood exactly what he was doing, but everyone else got a little laugh out of it!

All in all it was a great weekend with a little relaxing a few fun activities!

About a week ago Chase of course was rummaging through the drawers and grabbed the toe nail clippers and sat down and did this. I thought it was so cute! Kids this age are just watching everything you do....even when you don't think they are.

Yah right Mom and Dad....Like that is going to keep me out!

So Chris and I decided to finally get the child safety locks on the cabinets. We had put the plug things in the outlets and of course we have let him play in the cabinets a little, but wanted to make sure that he was no longer tempted by the bathroom cabinets and the cabinet under the sink in the kitchen. So last night we headed to Lowes and put them up. Of course right after we did it Chase went right to the cabinet under the sink and tried to open it. When it did not open Chris and I both chuckled and walked off. Well....this morning Chase and I were in the bathroom and he went to get in the cabinet. First try...no luck. Then he began to stare at it a little harder and before I knew it the little rascal opened it right up and then he chuckled and then I felt as if he almost gave me the look of, "Yah right, like that is going to keep me out!" What a stinker! Chris is going to work on making the a little more Chase proof more than what Safety First came up with. I think he can make them shorter or something. We will see....

So much for the safety locks for now!

Looks like I will just have to keep my eagle eye on him for now!

Aloha....Part 2

Well we are back! I had great intentions to try to get on every few days to post a blog, but it just did not happen so beware of the pics that are about to come. What a great time we had...we did so much exploring of that island yet I felt that we could have stayed another week just to take it all in. Chase did such a great job the whole time with being off of his schedule and on our power schedules to get in as much as possible. All in all it was a great trip and I will miss the little island of Kauai. Fasten your seat belts as you all get to take in just a little bit of our trip with us.

Before our helicopter ride on Monday morning we headed over to the pool for a little pool time! Chase loved spending time with Grandaddy and Grandma!Chase had his eye on a bird and was chasing it everywhere. About a mile and half down the street from us there was a place called blowing horn. So on Tueday morning we headed down to take a look. There was a little flea market to shop at there as well. It was pretty cool to see as the wave hit this big spout of water come up. As you can see by my lame smile I was not prepared for this pic.Dad at the blowing horn! You were not supposed to go down here by the spot, but you know the boys....."What signs?"After hitting this site we headed to see Kepu falls. This place was amazing and again one of the hidden treasures of Kauai. You headed down this road and then hiked through guinea grass to get to this spot. Once you got there you had to go over all this lava rock that headed to these amazing set of falls. There was a lot of people there jumping off the falls and a rope swing as well. Alot of the local people would climb up the trees which was a lot higher from even where we jumped. Who needs a gym when you have this place.... So much fun!

Chris actually got up and rode a few waves in. I think they had a lot of fun and were pretty tired after the trip to Kepu Falls. Once they got home we just headed to dinner and had some great fresh sea food.

Wednesday we headed to the pool for the early morning hours and then headed to a local spot for lunch One of the things about Kauai that is interesting is that there is chickens and roosters everywhere. I guess a few years ago there was a big storm and all the chickens and hens got loose from the farm they were on. The guy decided it was just a loss since there was no way he was going to be able to get them all back, and did not go and try to collect them so they are EVERYWHERE even the restaurants sometime just running around.
So of course we had to get a picture of that.After lunch we headed over for our Fern Grato boat tour. It was the same place where we would be attending our Luau that night so it was perfect. They say if you are headed to the Fern Grato and have never been married then you will be when you leave. They always sing the wedding song to you before you leave and you have to kiss the person next to you. How Precious!

Grandaddy and Chase. See the ferns.... From the fern grato we got ready and headed over to our luau. It was so awesome and I would recommend it to anyone who goes to Kauai. The scenery was perfect, along with the dinner and the show.Yep, thats dinner!Grandma, Chase, and Grandaddy....Let's Eat!Thurday morning Chris and I got up and headed off to the zipline. Chase got to spend the earlier part of the day with just Grandaddy and Gradma. It was LOTS of fun and a fun little date.

Ted and Sara stayed with us at the condo for first five days and then stayed at the Hyatt for a trip that he won. This place is amazing and a tourist site all in itself! This is one of the pools there with sand and all the trimmings. I could sit here all day long!Me and Sadie Jane living the life! Just relaxing on the hammock with a pina colada. Sadie of course is wrapped in the blanket. This isn't the best pic, but Lani you know any tropical vacation has to have a Pina Colada. :)After the Hyatt we headed back to our place and got ready to go out to eat. There was a place called the Beachhouse and it had a great view.....So of course we had to get some pics. Giving our baby kisses!Well of course Friday was our last day there. So we packed up in the morning and headed over to the Hyatt while mom and dad headed tubing. It was a perfect end to a perfect vacation....other than the fact we almost missed our flight. :)

I could keep posting more and more, but this is quite a bit to take in. There was great food, great markets, and great people that we just could not get all in this blog. It was perfect and I only wish we could have stayed a little longer! What a great vacation!
